Getting Here is Easy
✈️ Fly direct into Auckland or Hamilton
🚗 Drive to Ongarue – 3.15 hours from Auckland or 90 minutes from Hamilton
🛏 Stay close to the trail and start riding the next morning. The Timber Trail is mostly ridden as a two-day ride. Mid-trail accommodation offers hot meals, luggage transfers, and cosy beds so you can focus on the ride itself.
How it works:
Day One: Shuttle to the Pureora trail head. Ride through towering forest over Mt Pureora and across thrilling suspension bridges.
Stay overnight: Choose from a range of Lodge and Glamping accommodation
Day Two: Continue through rich history, geology, and birdlife before rolling back to your vehicle at Ongarue ready for your next adventure.
